Economies of Care is a textile wall hanging made together with parents at Henry Fawcett Childrens Centre, displayed permanently in the centre’s main hall. The hanging was made during a series of Make and Talk workshops we hosted as part of our project True Currency: About Feminist Economics, commissioned by Gasworks, London.

The group was Claire, Ingrid, Maite, Emi, Fares, Sarah, Agneiska, Shanaz, Khudeja, K Rose R, Linh and Zara. They used collage, stencilling and fabric to express and explore ideas about parenthood and work. The wall hanging is made from fifteen individual screenprinted panels, with images and motifs that express feelings about supporting and resisting economies, and economies of care.
